The inspiration for this artwork comes from the site of our art residency project, the Invisible Flock studio, located within the Yorkshire Sculpture Park. The Yorkshire Sculpture Park is the UK's first open-air gallery for contemporary and modern sculpture, situated on the historic 500-acre grounds of the 18th-century Bretton Hall estate. It remains one of the largest sculpture parks in the world.
The significant source of inspiration for this artwork is how to engage in dialogue between the artwork itself and the surrounding natural surroundings and environment. In terms of creative form, we continue a creative concept from previously work - 'Musical Typewriter NO 2'. The Musical Typewriter employs the force of people striking the keyboard to drive different components connected to each key, producing distinct sounds with each keystroke, akin to an amusing percussion symphony.
This time we have utilised the forces of nature such as wind and rain to strike this natural typewriter, thereby simulating a poetic dialogue of whispers between nature and humanity within an evocative setting.
The relationship between the natural world and us is increasingly important and cannot be overlooked in modern life. They have always been narrating and whispering to us.
呢喃低语/Whispering 这件作品的灵感源自我们此次艺术驻留项目Invisible Flock 工作室所在的场地 -Yorkshire Sculpture Park 约克郡雕塑公园内， 约克郡雕塑公园是英国第一个当代和现代雕塑的露天画廊，位于历史悠久的十八世纪布雷顿庄园500英亩土地上，至今仍是世界上最大的雕塑公园之一.
受自然环境的启发，如何利用作品本身与周围的自然环境对话，是此件作品的重要灵感来源. 创作形式上我们延续多年前的创作概念 - 音乐打字机，这种音乐打字机利用人敲击键盘的力量来驱动连接到每个键上的不同部件，每按一个键就会产生不同的声音，就像一首有趣的打击交响乐。
而今次我们利用风、雨等大自然的力量，敲击这台“天然的”打字机，从而模拟一场自然与人，自然与物在诗意的环境中展开对话的过程. 自然界与我们的关系在现代生活中日益重要，不可忽视，他们一直在向我们低声讲述.
